On January 9th, after a preview of the previous day, Oris finally unveiled the ‘mysterious big coffee’ veil at Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. After the bronze watch launched by the first black Karl Brassier diver of the US Navy, the bronze chronograph will be launched in the Basel Watch Fair 2018.
The reason why I chose to introduce this watch to the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is not only to pay tribute to the legendary Karl Blasil. The first black navy in history had a serious accident while participating in a mission during service and had to amputate his left leg below the knee. After a hard recovery period, he finally regained his status as a diver in 1968. In addition to paying tribute to this legend, Oris also used this to express another special significance of the brand’s support for public welfare undertakings to protect the hammerhead shark.

Oris Bronze Chronograph Case Back
Oris launched the first bronze diving watch in 2016. In the 1950s, bronze was often used in the manufacture of deep sea diving helmets. Similar to the 2016 bronze diving watch, the newly introduced bronze chronograph also adopts a 42 mm diameter design, and the bezel and case are made of bronze.
And we know that the charm of bronze lies in the influence of each person wearing in different environments, wearing habits and so on. Bronze is initially bright and shiny, and gradually darkens after reacting with carbon dioxide and water vapor. This means that each bronze watch will produce their own different patina, which is unique.
And Oris’s upcoming bronze chronograph, not only the dial design is very symmetrical and beautiful, the two sub-dial at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock are 30-minute chronograph and small seconds, bubble-shaped curved sapphire crystal Internal anti-glare mirror, screw-in bronze crown, water-resistant to 100 meters. The back of the case is engraved with the Carl Brasil diving helmet pattern and the famous declaration ‘It’s not a sin to get knocked down, it’s a sin to stay down’. The new Oris Bronze Chronograph will be launched at the Baselworld Watch Fair 2018. Are you looking forward to it?
